College Athlete Night 2019

Last night, the College and Career Office and Athletics Office held a joint presentation for High School students to learn what is required to play athletics in college, as well as avoid pitfalls which could prevent a student from becoming ineligible.

Presented by Ms. Jessica Atthowe from SDSU, the Power Point Presentation shared with the parents and students in attendance can be found shared here. Additionally, a Player Panel was held with a Q&A session regarding what it takes to play at that next level.

A College Athlete Night presentation was also shared with the community members in attendance.

Lastly, for those in attendance, an NCAA Worksheet was shared out to help our students determine what classes they will need to graduate and apply for college.

Robotics Judges Needed

The nationally recognized Sweetwater Robotics League is looking for volunteers to be Judges and Inspectors at the robotics events held throughout the year.

The task – to be able to talk with students, ask questions to decide award selection. You don’t need to be a rocket (robot) scientist or an engineer. Robotics involves a wide range of professions and walks of life.

The commitment – a few hours several Saturdays from October 2019 to February, 2020. You will be trained to put your life experience into practice.

If you are interested and you can volunteer some of your Saturdays please contact me. You will have fun, and you will be blessed seeing what our students can do. Contact me Joe Amaro at  joseph.amaro@sweetwaterschools.org.
